General Election

14th General Election (GE) could be held in April or May. The date is still not confirmed and we are all waiting for the Prime Minister to dissolve the Parliament.

14th GE will witness our historic former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir, as he will be contesting and nominated as Prime Minister if Opposition wins the election. There is high probability for him to win a chair considering the voters who lived or supported him during the 22 years of premiership, might still vote for Tun.

I still have faith in Barisan Nasional. Why? Below are my key points.
  1. Stable and strong GDP Annual Growth Rate which indicates best health of country’s economy.
  2. Good Debt-GDP ratio. Current Debt-GDP is at 53.2%. The opposition keeps on whining that Malaysia is in critical debt but the fact is, there are other countries that have higher debts and still running good. The analogy for us is like: We earn RM1000, and we have debt for about RM500, which we still have balance of RM500. Can you tell me how are we going to be bankrupt if we have balance of RM500?
  3. 1MDB? 1MDB is not part of DOJ civil lawsuit.
  4. GST? GST is important for growth and reduces reliance on other income (i.e. PETRONAS). GST is the most practical taxation policy.
  5. NFC? It was highlighted in 2010 Audit Report, way before Rafizi’s media release. It was acknowledged by General Auditor that NFC was incapable in providing the agreed amount (cows). RM240m is loan (not free gift, which NFC needs to pay).
I do not have any other concerns. Should you have any, let me know. The questions and answers will be updated here.

PEACE
